How Does DTF Cold Peel Film Work?

The DTF printing process involves several key steps, and the cold peel film plays a pivotal role in each of them:

  1. Printing: The design is first printed onto the DTF cold peel film using a specialized DTF printer. The printer uses water-based inks, which are then dried onto the film.
  2. Adhesive Activation: Once the ink is dried, a layer of adhesive is applied to the film. This adhesive is key to ensuring that the printed image adheres securely to the fabric.
  3. Transfer: The printed film is then placed on the substrate (e.g., a T-shirt or other fabric) using a heat press or transfer machine. The adhesive ensures that the ink transfers cleanly and permanently onto the fabric.
  4. Cold Peel: After the transfer process, the film is peeled away at room temperature. The “cold” aspect of this process means that no additional heat is required, which is particularly beneficial for delicate fabrics or those that may be damaged by high temperatures.
